Food for thought here, Mel. I hear you. I'll be interested to see where your thinking takes you. I, too, feel the ground shaking under my feet. Greetings from the other side of the ocean!
I did not know that about Stripe or PayPal. Ugh. In other news, this was a good reminder that little ol’ me with a free account and incredibly slow subscriber growth is exactly where I need to be. It’s what feeds us and gives us joy, right?
Exactly!!! We need to reclaim our creativity for ourselves first, so then it becomes a joyful extension when we share it. You are one of my inspirations for this line of thinking…seeing how you engage with your art/stories is precisely how it should look and feel 😍
i could not agree more. sod the algorithms, sod the bloated, grasping, evil bastards who have ensnared practically everything in their net of endless acquisition. let's step off the un-merry-go-round and walk away, go home with our marbles, find peace again, and throw a spanner into all their unholy works.
All this resonates with me, Mel. I’ve dusted off my old personal website and about ready to take up residence there once again. I’ve never been one to chase algorithms and subscribers. I like to write, I like to share stories about my life and connect with other people in some meaningful way. I’ve have a tiny bit devoted circle of readers and that’s just fine. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this.

These are certainly thought-provoking times (understatement of the century!)...will report back. xo
May Compost and Joy be the currencies of the future. ♡♡♡
Now that's an economy I can get behind. xo

I feel exactly the same way, Becca....and my current inclination is to return to my own personal website/blog in the near future. xo
