Melanie - yes to all. Especially the craving for solitude, serenity, alone time with my plants... and congratulations! *shambles of to order book by Melanie... have a lovely weekend!
You are doing exactly what you need to do. Rest, recharge, rediscover the things you had to leave behind for a bit and savor them. The promotion will always be there -- it won't stop being important but it doesn't all have to be done at the same time. The people who see your book the first time (and the requisite reminders!) won't know or care if you published it a month ago, two months or yesterday. It's all new to them! And unless you have an ogre of a publicist breathing down your back, the timetable is yours. Yes, your work has value, yes it needs to reach out and yes you'll one day have to do that if that's what you want. But today, tomorrow, next week or however long it takes, you can breathe. Then maybe tasks one at a time and on to the next. Space it out so it doesn't feel spammy! One day is press releases, another day is social. You've done this before. You've got it. So just chill for now. Besides, it's hot!

Thank you, dear Elisabeth...I hope you had a wonderfully quiet weekend :) xo
Rest as revolution 👍👍.
Yes indeed! xo
I so so resonate with this. But I think I might start posting properly to Instagram this week. After an almost 2 month break.
Haha..funny you should say that, I actually posted there this week after being away for......well, ages. It's refreshingly quiet over there. xo

Such wise words, Jeanie, thank you! And yes, it's too effing hot to do much of anything right now! xo
