I hear you on going with your rhythms. My post-holiday is always slow (yes, Christmas decorations are still up -- that slow.) I've been writing a lot and reading and when I'm doing that I'm not putting Santa in his box. We'll all live. You do you on your schedule -- a big, healthy plus!

Re-entry after the holidays is definitely something I've learned to 'customize' over the years...I tend to put the decorations away fairly soonish after Christmas day..mostly because our tree will have crisped up by then and needs to go out...so why not just keep going? lol. All will get done in the perfect time.xo

The tortoise approach is highly under-rated :D. I'm definitely plodding along and quite happy with the pace ;) xo

I'm easing back in to Substack world but won't publish until next week. I had considered upgrading to creating a paywall for a specific project, but I've decided to keep working on it behind the scenes and share it once it feels more solidly manifest, rather than still a murky ephemeral idea. I'm fairly comfortable with the once weekly folk herb journal pages because they're based on work already completed over the years and require minimal writing, research, etc. Also, I enjoy them. But I don't want to shift into the rough and tumble hustle of the curated world's approach to sharing what I love. If I have a theme or ideal I'm leaning into for 2025 (Do I? Probably not.), it's probably being myself authentically each day and living it as it is. I don't have an expectation that it will look the same day by day, week by week.

I love this, Leenie..."I don't want to shift into the rough and tumble hustle of the curated world's approach to sharing what I love. If I have a theme or ideal I'm leaning into for 2025 (Do I? Probably not.), it's probably being myself authentically each day and living it as it is." <-- perfect, just perfect. I'm spending my quiet time deeply questioning how I've taken on this idea that I MUST be sharing or else what I'm doing isn't valid. It's a bit of a tangled mess, especially when you factor in my over-developed sense of responsibility :) Your words are very wise and I'll be carrying them with me in the days ahead. xo
